"For the simplicity that lies this side of complexity, I would not give a fig, but for the simplicity that lies on the other side of complexity, I would give my life." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Our Vision

The challenges in global health are incredibly complex with multiple, interacting and dynamic risk factors operating at the individual, community, societal, and global level. There are ways of working constructively with this complexity that foster a multi-disciplinary understanding of the context surrounding these challenges and the formulation of cogent research plans that can lead to successful, scalable, and sustainable innovations.

We work with interdisciplinary teams to create a space where complexity and context can be explored while respecting the urgent need for solutions. We systematically identify and critically evaluate potential alternative solutions in order to find the most promising pathways for research and development activities. As work proceeds, we develop question-based reviews that build on emerging data and guide the refinement of action plans so that the quality of potential solutions improve over time.
